Just say “NO!” to scammers pretending to be from the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office! This scam has been going on for years, and they often use the names of real deputies. They ask for money over the phone or ask you to meet in our parking lot to give them money in-person (do not do this!). They’ll say it’s urgent that you pay to prevent being arrested for missed jury duty or some other reason. This is a lie! We will NEVER ask you to pay money to avoid arrest.
